We are Laura and Daniela Garello,

Our project was born in 2009, when Laura came up with the idea of making a bag that had a telephone wheel, just like "once upon a time", instead of the heart.

We like to imagine that the telephone wheel is the heart of each Tilde, placed right in the center, as if it had a soul of its own.

To do this, it took all the ingenuity of Beppe, our dear father, a craftsman of the past who always has an answer for all our requests, even the most complicated. 

The first telephones used for our bags were vintage Italians, recovered from antiques and brocantage markets throughout Italy: the wheel was the real numerator of SIP phones.

Unique, unobtainable pieces that they presented every time shades of color different according to the story they brought with them, the conditions in which they were kept and the light they had taken.

The handset, still today, is inserted on the bags "as it is", in its original gray or worked with resin when it needs to be colored. Being the original vintage one, you can imagine how difficult it is to find! 

That's why we can only make very few pieces.

In the 2014, after realizing that it would have been impossible to continue producing other bags with wheels only available in the markets, the very first molds of the new wheels were born, branded with the La Tilde logo.

Since then they have represented our “three-dimensional figurative” trademark, registered at European and extra-European level!

And then? And then we never stopped: we continue to work with one dedication obsessive for details and with an approach 100% handcrafted, with the support of 7 local companies, manufacturers of the 9 components of the wheel. We file every single screw by hand, we sew the wheel on a support, the lifeblood of every new Tilde!
